    2016 Medical Residency Match Results for UMHS

    The National Resident Matching Program Main Residency Match results came in earlier this month, and we're very proud of all all 84 UMHS students that matched.

    The UMHS Endeavour takes a sample look at this year's Match results, with a full listing in this post. The National Resident Matching Program website says 2016 is the "largest on record" for the Match, and we're pleased so many students at American and Caribbean medicals schools landed residencies.

    Forty-six UMHS students matched in Family Medicine at hospitals all over the United States (and even one in British Columbia, Canada), at places ranging from Gwinnett Medical Center in Georgia to the Medical Center of Columbus, Georgia to Sacred Heart in Allentown, Pennsylvania, the Selma Family Medicine Residency Program at University of Alabama-Birmingham in Alabama to Yuma Regional Medical Center in Arizona.

    Sixteen UMHS students matched in Internal Medicine at such places as Brandon Regional Hospital in Florida to Pinnacle Health Hospitals in Pennsylvania and Wayne State University School of Medicine in Michigan.

    Four UMHS students matched in Obstetrics-Gynecology respectively at Hospital Episcopal San Lucas, Puerto Rico; MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center in Maryland; Obstetrics-Gynecology: NEOMED/Aultman Hospital in Ohio; and St. Joseph Mercy in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

    Four UMHS students matched in Pediatrics respectively at  Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in New Jersey; Sinai Hospital of Baltimore, Maryland; St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center in New Jersey; and University of Illinois St. Francis Medical Center in Illinois.

    Three UMHS students matched in Surgery-Preliminary respectively at Mayo School of Graduate Medical  Education in Minnesota; St. Louis University School of Medicine in Missouri; and York Hospital in Pennsylvania.

    Three UMHS students matched in Transitional medicine, including two at Detroit Medical Center/WSU in Michigan and one at Hospital Episcopal in San Lucas, Puerto Rico.

    UMHS students also matched in such specialties as Anesthesiology, Neurology, Radiology-Diagnostic and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
