Honor incoming students by sponsoring stethoscopes & white coats

Be a part of a new UMHS tradition

UMHS will start a new tradition in 2024 by adopting a practice many med school alumni associations have done for years—helping sponsor stethoscopes and white coats for the incoming classes of medical students.

Starting this year, the UMHS Alumni Association offers alumni the chance to sponsor one stethoscope and one white coat for each new student in an upcoming class during the UMHS White Coat Ceremony. Each stethoscope will be engraved with the student’s name and the name of the alumni member it was sponsored by. It’s a great way to “give back” and help a new UMHS med student. Our connection with you, as a graduate of UMHS, is very important to us. We are striving to expand our reach and make our work more meaningful, impactful, and helpful to all UMHS alumni and current students. Our goal is to create a community where alumni can easily get involved in ways that are personally rewarding to them, as well as our current and future students.

Dr. Kristen Miller

Alumni President

Dr. Kristin Miller (née Riggs) has been an attending Family Medicine Physician in Oklahoma for nearly a decade, since graduating from UMHS in 2011. She was part of the very first founding class at UMHS. Email her at drkmiller33@gmail.com

Dr. Holly Wirkus

Alumni Vice President

Dr. Holly Wirkus (née Huth) is originally from Michigan and graduated from UMHS in 2017. She completed her Internal Medicine Residency in Chicago and completed her Hospice and Palliative Care Fellowship from Vanderbilt University in Nashville in 2021. Contact her at hollywirkus1@gmail.com
