Enhance your education with a second degree

Depending on your interests and long-term career goals, you may find it beneficial to pursue a second degree while you earn your M.D. at UMHS. We believe that earning two advanced degrees can help enhance your credentials and make you a more desirable residency candidate in today’s competitive marketplace.

UMHS has established partnerships with two accredited universities that each offer unique benefits and concurrent enrollment opportunities to qualified UMHS students.

    Walden University

Walden University, a regionally accredited online university based in the U.S., offers an array of program options to UMHS students. The University also offers UMHS students a 20 percent reduction in tuition for their second degree.

Walden’s programs can help you develop the critical and creative thinking skills you’ll need to be successful in the healthcare field. You will have the option to choose from bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral-level degree programs in areas of study such as Business and Management, Public Health and Health Sciences, Public Policy and Administration, and more.

Walden has an established track record of concurrent enrollment success. The school offers dedicated support so you can effectively manage your time and the workload requirements of both your MD and your second degree.
