Dr. Aravindakshan received her Doctor in Medicine (MD) in Physiology from Sree Siddartha Medical College, Timkur, India and Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from Mysore Medical College, Mysore, India.

She started her teaching career in 2010. Dr. Aravindakshan worked as Assistant Professor for three years in the Department of Physiology in Sree Gokulam Medical College, Trivandrum, Kerala, India. Then in 2014, she joined St Matthews University, Cayman Island as Assistant Professor in the Department of Physiology and Pathology. She was promoted as Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs and was involved in policy and procedural matters regarding exams and other academic matters. Dr. Aravindakshan was the AHA Training Center Coordinator at St Matthews for conducting Basic Life Sciences classes for Community.

Dr. Aravindakshan joined UMHS in July 2019 as Associate Professor in the Department of Pathology.
