Generous UMHS Students Give Back to St. Kitts & JNF Hospital

By Tasia Bradley, Med 4

On December 8th , 2015, Darron Lewis, Med 4 SGA representative and Tasia Bradley, Student Government Association (SGA) President, presented a gift to Dr. Wilkinson on behalf of the Fall 2015 UMHS St. Kitts class. Throughout the semester, a total of $2,021.34 (U.S. dollars) was raised by the students. Indirectly, if a student purchased a Halloween party ticket or bought a pair of sunglasses, they were making a contribution to the cause.

The SGA purchased four microwaves and six portable 16’’ fans to be distributed to the four main units in JNF Hospital. Two fans and one microwave will be dispersed to the Surgical, Pediatric, Medical, and Obstetrics wards. Hot food and a cool breeze from a fan can go a long way when you are not feeling 100 percent yourself. We hope that this small gesture impacts the lives of the patients visiting JNF.

Thank you to JNF Hospital patients and staff. JNF will forever be a part of our journey in medicine. It was only proper to give back a piece of what was given to us.
