    Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine

Dr Bichara Sahely was born in St. Kitts. He was the St Kitts and Nevis State Scholar in 1988. He obtained his BSc (Hons) in Biology from Dalhousie University in Canada in 1992. He completed his MBBS in 1997 and his DM (Internal Medicine) in 2003 at the Mona Campus of the University of the West Indies in Jamaica. Six months of his electives in 2002 were spent at the University of Toronto in Canada in rheumatology, cardiology and nephrology.

He has returned home to serve his country as a Consultant Physician in Internal Medicine at the Joseph N. France General Hospital since 2003 to the present. He also has been in private practice since 2004.

His recent interests revolve around the social, economic and political determinants of health and disease and how to update our biopsychosocial model of medical practice to be fully life-coherent with the protection of our social and planetary life support systems. The base of this exploration is the life-value onto-axiology framework which provides a more comprehensive and coherently inclusive taking into account of all of the life-value determinants of healthy developments at all levels of life organization.
