Timothy Doubell, Ph.D., B.Sc.
Associate Professor of Neuroscience and Anatomy
Dr. Doubell started his academic life studying Human Anatomy and Cell Biology at the University of Sheffield, later completing a PhD in Neuroanatomy at the Open University. His research has focused on sensory neuroscience, particularly chronic pain and the development of the auditory system.
His first faculty position was at the University of Oxford, teaching neuroscience, and later he held lecturer positions at the University of Brunei and the University of Lancaster, teaching neuroscience and anatomy. As Senior Lecturer in Anatomy at the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland-Medical University of Bahrain, he developed ultrasound methods for teaching living anatomy and competed a Professional Diploma in Higher Education and became a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Before moving to UMHS, Dr. Doubell was Associate Professor and Head of Anatomy at the University of Lincoln in the UK.
