    Roopa Sebastian, Ph.D., M.Sc., B.Sc.

    Associate Professor of Molecular Sciences

    Dr. Roopa Sebastian is an accomplished educator with over 18 years of experience in medical education, specializing in Biochemistry, Cell, and Molecular Biology. She holds a Master’s degree in Medical Biochemistry from Manipal University and a Ph.D. from Yenepoya University, Mangalore. Over the years, she has built a strong foundation in both academic instruction and educational leadership.

    Before relocating to the Caribbean, Dr. Sebastian served as an Associate Professor of Biochemistry at KVG Medical College, Sullia, where she was actively involved in teaching, supervising research, and coordinating academic activities for both undergraduate and postgraduate programs.

    Her teaching philosophy emphasizes interdisciplinary integration, real-world relevance, and active student participation, and she is deeply committed to helping students achieve academic success. She has mentored numerous students in both academic and research endeavors and continues to support professional growth and career development.

    She most recently served as Course Director for the Genetics and Metabolism course and as an Associate Professor at the American University of Antigua College of Medicine, where she contributed significantly to curriculum development, student mentoring, and fostering meaningful student engagement.

    Beyond her institutional responsibilities, Dr. Sebastian is actively engaged in international academic communities, serving as an external PhD evaluator and an international representative for ASPBP. Her research interests include salivary diagnostics and educational innovation in medical training.

    As a certified science communicator, Dr. Sebastian is passionate about making complex scientific concepts accessible to broad audiences. Her community engagement includes leading STEMM education workshops and spearheading initiatives that bridge academia and public service, reflecting her enduring commitment to academic excellence and societal impact.
