Computer Requirements


All students are required to bring laptop computers to classes. Students use their laptop computers to access each day’s lectures and slides, as well as periodicals, journals and research databases. Students also use their laptop computers in classes such as Histology, Pathology, and in the Anatomy Laboratory.  All students are required to have a laptop not more than 3 years old, with the current specifications listed below. 


Students will be using their laptops for block and final examinations. You must have a genuine operating system installed.

Please be advised that any student with an Apple Mac computer will need the following software installed to access our histology database:

Tablet computers are allowed and fully supported on the University campus network.   For exams, only laptop computers are allowed.  



IT Support Team


We have a great IT staff on campus that provides daily support to students and faculty. They are knowledgeable in all aspects of computer technology.  If for any reason you have a problem with your laptop, bring your computer to the student LRC (Learning Resource Center) so our team can help you.  The IT staff will troubleshoot your problem and assist you in getting your laptop functional again.
