    Donna Walker

    Donna Walker, Ed.D.

    Director of Learning Services


    With almost a decade of experience supporting medical education, Donna’s expertise spans an academic background in technology, education and leadership, and a professional background in faculty development, undergraduate and graduate teaching, medical education learning strategies and directorship.


    Donna’s professional endeavors have further extended to robust global scholarly engagement through her publications, presentations and posters. These have been concerned with contributing to the literature on learning strategies, learning technology systems, instructional design and pedagogical leadership. Donna serves her local and global communities through a range of initiatives, including providing peer reviewing for academic journals, active membership in the Medical Education Learning Specialist (MELS) association and serving as the President of the Learning Specialist Association of Canada (LSAC).


    As the Director of Learning Services at UMHS, Donna leads the Learning Development and Communication Skills department, helping students in the Basic Sciences Program and Accelerated Review Program (ARP) to develop and refine their learning approach. Additionally, she hosts education and communication skills workshops for faculty.
