Dr. Cherrilyn Warde-Crawford, PsyD, CCTP-II
Campus Counselor
Dr. Cherrilyn Warde-Crawford has over seventeen years of clinical and teaching experience in the mental health field. She graduated with honors with her Doctor of Psychology degree (PsyD) from California Southern University, California, USA. She preceded with attaining a Master of Science (MS) degree in Medical Psychology and a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree (honors) in Psychology, both from the Universidad Central “Marta Abreu” De Las Villas, Cuba. In addition, Dr. Crawford is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, level 2 (CCTP-II) with Evergreen Certifications, and is bi-lingual, Spanish being her second language.
Before joining UMHS in March 2023, she worked as a Clinical Psychologist at the Joseph N France (JNF) General Hospital in Saint Kitts and conducted private practice at Revamp Psychological Solutions. She also worked as a Professor and Psychological Counselor at the Windsor University School of Medicine and as a part-time Lecturer at the University of the West Indies (UWI), Open Campus in Saint Kitts. She was the President of the St. Kitts Mental Health Association from 2018 to 2022 and the Chair of the St. Kitts & Nevis Mental Health & Psychosocial Support (SKNMHPSS) Committee from 2019 to 2023. Presently, she is a PAHO/WHO Regional Mental Health Response Team member.
Dr. Crawford is passionate about mental wellness and is often involved in advocacy for mental health. She takes an integrative approach to therapy and frequently draws upon Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Mindfulness.
