We are happy to announce that we have been approved for the Residency and Relocation Loan by Sallie Mae.

Students in their senior year and students who have graduated in the last 12 months can qualify for this loan program. Depending upon need, students can borrow a minimum of $1000 to a maximum of $20,000 to cover a variety of residency related expenses.


The attached documents will provide you with further details about the program. Aspects of the U.S.-based school application are not applicable to you; therefore, a special application link has been created specifically for UMHS students.

What expenses does a Residency and Relocation Loan cover?


  • Travel to interviews
  • Relocation costs
  • Board examination costs
  • Other expenses not included in the school’s cost of attendance

Who is eligible for the Residency & Relocation Loan ?


  • U.S. citizens and permanent residents who are enrolled at least half time in their final year of study at an approved foreign medical or veterinary school.
  • Recent graduate that has completed their final year of schooling and is no more than 12 months out of graduation.
