Student Body
The student body at the University of Medicine and Health Sciences is diverse. It is a mix of ages, backgrounds, genders, and religious beliefs.
Everyone, however, shares at least one thing in common – the desire to become a professional physician. By dedicating themselves to this purpose, students will find themselves in a rewarding and enriching peer group. Although aggressive in pursuit of the medical degree, everyone knows the maxim about "all work and no play." UMHS students take time to enjoy what life has to offer, including the beauty of St. Kitts, and the unique opportunity to live and study in another culture.

Support Services
Support services are provided to help counteract academic concerns, poor health, stress, or other problems that may negatively impact the educational process.
Academic Advising - Each student is assigned a faculty advisor to provide educational support and guidance when determining future career goals.
Health Care - All University students are required to maintain health insurance coverage. There is a hospital in Basseterre, near the UMHS campus.
There are also health clinics around the island. UMHS has a campus clinic, staffed by a nurse, who provides students and community members with care or referral for additional medical services.
