All students are required to have laptop computers. Beginning May 2009, entering students will be required to have a tablet/laptop computer that they will use in virtually every class and laboratory session.

UMHS has followed the lead of U.S medical schools in developing a digital library of histological images. Historically, students utilized microscopes to view histology slides during lab sessions. Today, histology is taught in modern computer laboratories. 

Using their tablet/laptop computer, UMHS students have access to a large bank of histological images which can be accessed both in classroom, laboratory and the Learning Resource Center.  Students are also able to access this information from home with high speed Internet access.
